Reply to Dan Tuckers Gazette article faxed to Gazette for publication on 5-1-08 (hope he puts another color photo on the front page)

Hi Dan! After reading your Gazette article,"Fritz Aligns with Republicans" it appears you have questions to ask me. As always, I'm available 24/7 to talk to you to clarify issues you are passionate about prior to printing.
1. I was at the post office to purchase a bulk mailing permit for my campaign postcards, checkbook in hand.
2. The Postmaster suggested I could save some money by using the permit of a club or civic organization that I'm affiliated with.
3. I asked and was assured that this was common practice and available to anyone who asks and receives permission from a civic organization. I did so, and received permission from the President of the Republican Central Committee. I could of just as well asked Eastern Star, or the Chamber of Commerce,  etc....
4. The permit was used for the bulk postcard mailing, not for the fundraiser.
5. I have violated absolutely no election code, as I am not seeking endorsement of the Republican Central Committee or any other group.
6. I am simply working diligently to distribute positive information to our citizens. I have done an excellent job serving the good people of Mariposa, and plan on continuing to do so.
