Mariposa County District 4 Supervisor Dianne Fritz has announced she is seeking a second term on the board.
She was elected vice chairman this year.
I have kept all my campaign promises, participated in tax saving revisions to
the county employee health plans, privatizing the Tourism Bureau, keeping our Historic Court House the property of our county,
completion of the Historic Darrah School, completion of the General Plan, assuming the operations of the landfill and completion
of the composting facility. I also brought the “Social Host Ordinance” before the Board giving our Sheriff and
the District Attorney another tool to fight under aged drinking. I am aggressively working on the rock slide resolution. I
place a strong emphasis on public safety, promoting tourism and planning events for our community.
I believe in the rights
of property owners and that we need less Government in our daily lives. We need controlled growth to stay viable, to create
jobs for our young people, to provide affordable housing and support our Sheriff Deputies and Fire fighters by providing them
with the equipment they require to keep us safe and to protect them. We all need to give back to our community, to support
those who are having difficulty not by just writing a check but by showing them the way to help themselves
I serve
as Vice Chair on the San Joaquin Valley Rail Committee (keeping Mariposa County part of the Amtrak connection to Yosemite)
and YARTS (Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System), which has been beneficial in acquiring smaller busses for the Highway
140 detours, vice chair of the Local Transportation Commission and the Local Agency Formation Commission. I am on the board
of directors of the California State Association of Counties, and serve on several other councils and Task forces. I am a
member of Soroptimist of Mariposa, and the Order of Eastern Star. I am working on the Las Mariposas Civil War Days reenactment,
bringing history to life. I am a 3 term past President of the Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce.
I have been a resident
in Mariposa since 1994. My husband Greg and I have been married 32 years and have 4 children, 2 sons-in-law and 7 grandchildren,
all living in Mariposa. I am available 24/7 at 966-8401. My web site is www.diannefritz.com.
I hold public meetings at 6pm on the first Monday of the month at the government center.
I look forward to further
serving our wonderful community.
